# PCFS Solutions vs Lenders Cooperative for SBA servicing: the two vendors that publish 1502

> PCFS Solutions is the choice for a 7(a) lender that services its own portfolio and sells guaranteed portions: its Loan Manager publishes FTA-format 1502 preparation, secondary market prepayment and late payment handling, FASB 166 support and a separate special assets product. Lenders Cooperative is the choice for a CDC or 504 lender, with the Ventures platform behind 99.8% of 504 loans, a CDC Annual Report tool, modernized 1502 reporting through its Payments product, and servicing available as a professional service while its platforms finish merging.

## Choose PCFS Solutions when

- You are a 7(a) lender that sells guaranteed portions and files 1502 monthly
- Workouts, liquidation and the guaranty purchase file need a product, not a spreadsheet
- You want the vendor to track FTA reporting changes for you
- You already have an origination system and want a servicing specialist beside it

## Choose Lenders Cooperative when

- You are a CDC or 504 is a meaningful share of your portfolio
- You want origination and servicing from one vendor and can accept a platform transition
- You may outsource servicing to the vendor's own staff at first
- A named credit union customer and named CDC clients matter to your committee

## Verdict

On the 7(a) servicing cycle PCFS publishes more than anyone in this category: the monthly file in the FTA's format, sold-loan prepayments and late payments, the accounting for the guaranteed portion under FASB 166, and a separate product for the day a loan goes bad. Lenders Cooperative's servicing record is the Ventures 504 heritage, a CDC annual report tool and a modernized 1502 capability for 7(a) lenders through its Payments product, plus the one thing PCFS does not offer, which is people who will do the servicing for you. The buyer's program decides it. A 7(a) bank or credit union that keeps its portfolio and sells the guaranteed portion has a PCFS-shaped problem. A CDC has a Lenders Cooperative-shaped one, with the caveat that its company page describes servicing functionality still expanding onto the unified platform. Ask both to produce a month-end 1502 in the current MySBA Loan Portal format during the demo and upload it; the validation errors that come back are the real evaluation.

## Common questions

### Which one handles loans sold in the secondary market?

PCFS publishes prepayment and late payment handling for sold loans and FASB 166 accounting. Lenders Cooperative's servicing pages do not describe secondary market handling.

### Which one will do the servicing for me?

Lenders Cooperative offers servicing and SBA LSP services as professional services. PCFS sells software only, though it sells that software to LSPs and CUSOs who service on others' behalf.
