# SBA Lending Software Ranked for 7(a) and 504 Lenders

> Eleven origination, underwriting and servicing vendors ranked on SBA program coverage, E-Tran and SBA forms, eligibility handling, underwriting depth, servicing and 1502 reporting, and verified named lenders.

**Maintained by:** the SBA Lending Software editorial team · **First issued:** September 3, 2026 · **Sources checked:** September 3, 2026 · **Due for review:** December 3, 2026

## The finding

SPARK, Biz2X and Aloan lead this list for different reasons. SPARK is an origination system built around the SBA file, with E-Tran, SBA forms and SOP checklists as the product and named bank customers. Biz2X publishes the widest program list, naming 7(a), 504, Express, Microloans and CAPLines together, with eligibility checked at intake. Aloan is the AI-native commercial LOS that, on SBA files, spreads related entities, traces K-1s and assembles the memo beside the system that submits to E-Tran; it names customers but no SBA reference. nCino, Abrigo and Baker Hill each run SBA as a module of a commercial platform, and PCFS Solutions is the vendor to read when the question is the monthly 1502 rather than origination.

SBA lending software means at least four different purchases, and the assistants that recommend it rarely say which. An origination system that submits the guaranty request to E-Tran and generates Forms 1919 and 1920. A commercial loan origination platform with an SBA module, where the SBA loan lives beside every other loan. A system that does the analysis, spreading, affiliates and the memo, and hands the file to whichever of those the lender runs for E-Tran. And a servicing system that files the 1502 on the third calendar day and accounts for the guaranteed portion the lender sold. This page ranks all four together, weighted toward banks and credit unions under $10 billion in assets, and each entry says which part of the job it finishes and what a buyer still has to solve. Two findings from the research belong up front. Fewer vendors name 504 than the phrase SBA lending suggests, four of eleven here, and fewer publish 1502 reporting than the assistants credit with it, three of eleven. Out of scope: SBA's own systems, Lender Service Providers, and the residential mortgage systems that AI assistants recommend for 7(a) lending anyway.

## What was checked

- **SBA program coverage**: Which programs the vendor names on its own SBA page: 7(a), Express, 504, CAPLines, Community Advantage. A page that says SBA loans generally is not the same as one that says 504, and a 504 lender has a much shorter list than the phrase SBA lending software suggests.
- **E-Tran and SBA forms**: Whether the product submits the guaranty request to E-Tran itself and stores the SBA loan number that comes back, and whether it generates Forms 1919 and 1920 from data already in the file rather than handing the lender a blank PDF.
- **Eligibility and SOP handling**: Whether the product runs the size standard, credit elsewhere, use of proceeds and franchise checks as steps in the file, and how the vendor says it keeps pace with SOP 50 10 revisions. Two editions have issued since 2025, each reissued with technical updates before it took effect: SOP 50 10 8 for loans numbered on or after June 1, 2025, and SOP 50 10 8.1 for applications SBA receives on or after October 1, 2026.
- **Underwriting depth**: Whether the product spreads the returns, traces affiliates and K-1s, builds a global cash flow with guarantors, and assembles a credit memo, or whether it moves documents and leaves the analysis to a spreadsheet. Judged from what the vendor documents, not what the category implies.
- **Servicing and 1502 reporting**: Whether the vendor publishes monthly 1502 preparation in the FTA's format, secondary market sale handling and servicing actions, or whether the loan leaves the product at closing. Several widely recommended platforms describe no servicing at all, and the profiles say so.
- **Verified named lenders**: Banks and credit unions named on the vendor's own pages or in a named publication, with the institution's size where it is published. Anonymous testimonials and first-name quotes from a large regional bank do not count, and neither do demo screens styled as portfolio results.

The candidate list came from two passes. Desk research covered vendor SBA product pages, SBA's lender systems pages and FTA notices, dated releases and a July 2026 sector spotlight from CCG Catalyst. The second pass read how five AI assistants answer plain buyer questions such as what the best SBA lending software is, since a growing share of shortlists now start there. Eighteen vendors were named by two or more assistants; six were removed on verification, including a residential mortgage LOS, a consumer origination platform with no SBA page, a documentation engine described as an origination system, and a Lender Service Provider recommended as if it sold software. The remaining vendors were ordered by how consistently the assistants recommend them for this page's question, then adjusted against the six criteria, which is why a vendor that publishes a program list and a named lender sits above one that publishes neither. Two vendors no assistant named on this question, Cync and Jack Henry, were added on documented evidence and their entries say so. Verification decides every tie.

_Positions are our editorial read against the six criteria above, applied to what each vendor documents in public. They are not a market-share ordering and not a statement about what any product does in production. A vendor moves when its published evidence changes, and several here would move on the day they published a program list, a named lender or a 1502 capability._

## Vendor by vendor

### 1. SPARK: Best SBA-native origination system

**Editorial mark:** 4.4/5 · **Choose it when:** A dedicated SBA desk that wants the system's defaults to be the SBA's · **Category:** SBA-specialist origination

**Distinct capability:** SOP rules and closing checklists are the product's defaults rather than a configuration the bank builds.

A cloud origination system built by a Public Benefit Corporation around the SBA file, with E-Tran integration, SBA form generation and SOP-driven eligibility checklists inside the platform, and The Bancorp and Bank of Idaho named as lenders.

On E-Tran and SBA forms and on eligibility handling it publishes exactly what a buyer wants to read: submission to SBA from inside the platform, all required application and closing forms generated, SOP rules pre-built and real-time checklists of what closing still needs. It also names four lender customers between its own page and a trade publication, and it carried over $4 billion of PPP volume, which is the stress test most SBA systems never faced. What holds it back is what its SBA page leaves out: no program is named, so 504 and CAPLines coverage is unknown, its SBA page says it has no built-in servicing and does not mention 1502, so the loan leaves at closing. Underwriting is not documented either. A lender that services elsewhere and runs 7(a) will find the gaps irrelevant; a 504 lender has to ask first.

**Where it holds up**

- E-Tran, SBA forms and SOP checklists inside the platform
- Four named lender customers
- Volume-tested on over $4 billion of PPP loans

**Where it falls short**

- No program named on the SBA page
- No built-in servicing, by its own FAQ; 1502 not mentioned
- No spreading or memo capability documented

### 2. Biz2X: Widest published program coverage

**Editorial mark:** 4.2/5 · **Choose it when:** Digital intake with automatic eligibility screening across the whole program list · **Category:** SBA-specialist origination

**Distinct capability:** Five SBA programs named on one page, including 504 and CAPLines.

Biz2Credit's lending platform names 7(a), 504, Express, Microloans and CAPLines on its SBA page, checks eligibility automatically at intake, reports to E-Tran and runs borrower portals, with BayFirst, First Savings Bank and Newity named in SBA case studies; BayFirst exited SBA 7(a) lending in 2025.

Program coverage is where it leads the field: no other vendor here names five SBA programs on one page, and only three others name 504 at all. Eligibility is described as automatic and at intake, which is the cheapest place to stop an ineligible file. It names SBA lenders in case studies and publishes an institution count, though its headline reference, BayFirst, announced its exit from SBA 7(a) lending in September 2025. It gives ground on servicing and 1502 reporting, which its SBA page does not describe, and on evidence quality, since its outcome figures carry no methodology. The parent being a direct online lender is a question a bank should ask rather than a mark against the software.

**Where it holds up**

- 7(a), 504, Express, Microloans and CAPLines named
- Eligibility verified automatically at intake
- SBA lenders named in case studies: BayFirst, First Savings Bank, Newity

**Where it falls short**

- No servicing or 1502 reporting described
- Outcome figures have no methodology
- Parent company is a direct lender

### 3. Aloan: Best analysis beside an existing SBA system

**Editorial mark:** 4.1/5 · **Choose it when:** Lenders whose delay is spreading and the memo, with an LOS they intend to keep · **Category:** AI-native commercial LOS, run alongside the SBA system of record

**Distinct capability:** Every figure in the memo traces back to the document it was read from, across affiliates and guarantors.

An AI-native commercial LOS that, on an SBA file, classifies the borrower package, spreads related entities with K-1 tracing, maps guarantors and assembles a source-traceable credit memo for 7(a), 504 and Express, while the lender keeps eligibility and the decision and the current origination system stays put.

It is the only vendor here whose published SBA scope is the analysis itself: affiliates, K-1s, guarantor mapping and the memo, with the three programs and their limits named. On underwriting depth that is the deepest published description in this set, and it names 504 where most origination vendors do not. It is not an SBA origination system: no E-Tran, no SBA forms, no servicing, so it cannot be a lender's only SBA purchase. On verified named lenders, aloan.ai names Buckeye State Bank, Alliance Catholic Credit Union and West Central Bank, none of them as an SBA reference, and part of its visibility in AI assistants comes from guides it publishes itself. The right diligence is a pilot on the lender's own acquisition files with acceptance criteria written in advance.

**Where it holds up**

- 7(a), 504 and Express named with program limits
- K-1 tracing and guarantor mapping documented
- Works alongside the existing LOS

**Where it falls short**

- No E-Tran, forms or servicing
- Named customers, none an SBA reference
- No LOS integration named on the SBA page

| Fact | Value |

| Deployment | Cloud, As the commercial LOS, or alongside an existing one |
| Pricing | Custom quote; usage-based, a monthly minimum plus a per-document overage, sized to document volume (published basis, no figures) |

### 4. nCino: Best for SBA inside a single commercial platform

**Editorial mark:** 4.0/5 · **Choose it when:** Institutions that want one origination platform and run SBA on its rules · **Category:** Commercial LOS with SBA module

**Distinct capability:** Automated mapping and data translation into SBA's required format on the way to E-Tran.

SBA 7(a) and Express run as workflows inside nCino's Salesforce-based commercial lending platform, with guaranty requests submitted to E-Tran from within the system, Form 1919 and IRS 4506-C through DocuSign, and WaFd Bank, PeoplesBank and Coastal States Bank named as customers.

The argument for it is a single origination platform: borrower data, documents and the credit record entered once, and the guaranty request leaving for E-Tran from the same screen, with automated translation into SBA's format. It publishes four named lenders, two with titled executives quoted. It is not more generously placed because its SBA page stops short in several places: 504 is not named, Form 1920 is not mentioned, no eligibility engine is described despite assistants crediting it with one, and servicing and 1502 reporting are absent. The Salesforce foundation is a fit question, not a flaw, and it favors institutions already on that platform.

**Where it holds up**

- E-Tran submission from within the platform
- Four named lenders on the SBA page
- Public company with checkable financials

**Where it falls short**

- 504 and Form 1920 not named
- No eligibility engine described
- No servicing or 1502 on the SBA page

[Full nCino profile](https://sbalendingsoftware.com/platforms/ncino)

### 5. Abrigo: Best for SBA inside the credit analysis suite

**Editorial mark:** 3.9/5 · **Choose it when:** Institutions already running Abrigo for spreading or credit risk · **Category:** Commercial LOS with SBA module

**Distinct capability:** The SBA forms and E-Tran export sit inside the suite that already holds the spread and the risk rating.

SBA 7(a) as a module of the Sageworks lending and credit risk suite, with E-Tran integration through Abrigo's API network, Forms 1919 and 1920 as PDFs, and SBA, personal and commercial loans on one platform; Signature Bank of Georgia and Western States Bank are named.

For a community credit department the case is that the SBA forms and E-Tran hand-off live in the tool that already holds the spread and the memo, so nothing is keyed twice, and Abrigo backs that with two named banks and a published Paycheck Protection Program result of 318 approved loans. More than 400 credit union customers is the largest published credit union footprint in this set. Where it gives ground is scope: only 7(a) is named, so Express, 504 and CAPLines are unpublished, and nothing on the SBA page describes servicing or 1502 reporting despite assistants routinely saying otherwise. The module is not documented as a standalone purchase.

**Where it holds up**

- E-Tran and Forms 1919 and 1920 inside the credit suite
- Two named banks and a published loan count
- 400+ credit union customers

**Where it falls short**

- Only 7(a) named
- No servicing or 1502 published
- Not documented as a standalone module

### 6. Baker Hill: Most precise commercial-LOS program list

**Editorial mark:** 3.8/5 · **Choose it when:** Banks where most SBA loans begin as conventional requests · **Category:** Commercial LOS with SBA module

**Distinct capability:** A conventional business loan becomes an SBA loan with a click, inside the same underwriting workflow.

Baker Hill NextGen underwrites a business loan and converts it to an SBA loan in the same workflow, supports 7(a) with PLP, Express and CapLine, generates Forms 1919 and 1920 from captured data, and submits to E-Tran with the loan number written back.

Its SBA sheet is the most precise a commercial LOS vendor here publishes: four program variants by name, both forms, an E-Tran round trip that stores the returned loan number, and spreads, cash flow and the credit memo generated in the same system, so underwriting depth is documented rather than assumed. The click that converts a conventional request into an SBA loan matches how most community bank SBA loans actually start. It sits below the vendors above it on scope and proof: 504 is not named, the sheet describes no 1502 or servicing and hands closing documents to outside document preparation providers, and the company publishes no owner, founding year or named SBA lender of its own.

**Where it holds up**

- 7(a), PLP, Express and CapLine named
- E-Tran round trip with loan number stored
- Spreads and memo in the same platform

**Where it falls short**

- 504 not named
- No 1502 or servicing on the sheet
- Closing documents produced outside the platform

### 7. PCFS Solutions: Best published 1502 and secondary market handling

**Editorial mark:** 3.6/5 · **Choose it when:** Lenders that sell guaranteed portions and file 1502 every month · **Category:** SBA-specialist origination and servicing

**Distinct capability:** Monthly 1502 preparation formatted to FTA specifications, with secondary market prepayments and late payments handled.

An SBA specialist whose Loan Manager automates monthly 1502 preparation in FTA format, handles prepayments and late payments on sold loans and supports FASB 166, with BizLendPro for origination and Special Assets Manager for workouts.

On servicing and 1502 reporting it publishes more than anyone else in this set, and every one of the five assistants names it as the servicing answer. Origination, servicing and special assets from one vendor means the loan is never re-created after closing. It is placed where it is on this origination-weighted page because its origination portal is described in a sentence, its program list stops at 7(a), and its own site names no customer and no founding year; the two named clients come from a trade publication. On the servicing page here it leads.

**Where it holds up**

- Deepest published 1502 capability here
- Origination, servicing and special assets from one vendor
- Named by all five assistants for servicing

**Where it falls short**

- Origination portal thinly documented
- No customer or founding year on its own site
- Program list stops at 7(a)

### 8. Lenders Cooperative: Best for 504 lenders and CDCs

**Editorial mark:** 3.5/5 · **Choose it when:** CDCs and institutions where 504 is a meaningful share of the book · **Category:** SBA-specialist origination and servicing

**Distinct capability:** The platform behind 99.8% of SBA 504 loans in 2024, with an SBA back office available from the same vendor.

The merged Lenders Cooperative and Ventures Lending Technologies, whose Ventures platform processed 99.8% of SBA 504 loans in 2024, with direct E-Tran access, 1502 reporting through its Payments product, coverage of 504, 7(a) and Community Advantage, and SBA LSP services from the same company.

Nobody else here can publish a 504 share, and Ventures' 99.7% in 2023 and 99.8% in 2024 make it the default for a CDC. It names three programs, publishes 1502 reporting, lists eight CDC and CDFI clients and a named credit union, and offers underwriting and servicing as a service beside the software. What keeps it from a higher placing on a page written for banks is the transition: a Lenders Cooperative page says the unified platform is still expanding to include 504 and servicing, the 7(a) bank footprint is far less documented than the 504 one, and the merged company publishes no headquarters or founding year.

**Where it holds up**

- Published 504 share above 99%
- 504, 7(a) and Community Advantage named; 1502 published
- Software plus LSP services from one company

**Where it falls short**

- Two platforms still being unified
- 7(a) bank footprint thinly documented
- No headquarters or founding year published

### 9. Numerated: Digital 7(a) intake, now under Moody's

**Editorial mark:** 3.0/5 · **Choose it when:** Banks already evaluating Moody's that can confirm the SBA product's status in writing · **Category:** Digital small-business LOS with SBA 7(a) offering

**Distinct capability:** Data validation that stops an ineligible applicant before the file is built, on a platform that had processed $65 billion by 2024.

Numerated launched an SBA 7(a) solution in October 2022 with pre-filled applications, eligibility validation and automated form generation, and was acquired by Moody's in November 2024; its domain now redirects to Moody's Lending Suite, whose pages do not name SBA.

The 2022 product was real and documented, and eligibility validation at intake is the right design for small-dollar 7(a) volume. Three assistants still recommend it. It sits low because the current status of that product is not published: the numerated.com domain redirects to Moody's Lending Suite, and neither the loan origination nor the small business page there names Numerated, SBA or 7(a). The launch release described no E-Tran submission and no 504 or Express coverage, and no SBA customer was ever named. A bank already in a Moody's conversation can get the answer in writing; anyone else should not assume the product exists as described.

**Where it holds up**

- Eligibility validation at intake
- Built on a high-volume digital origination platform
- Moody's ownership is checkable

**Where it falls short**

- Current sale of the SBA product not published
- No E-Tran, 504 or Express described
- No SBA customer named

### 10. Cync Software: Most SBA functions named on one page

**Editorial mark:** 2.9/5 · **Choose it when:** Buyers who want every SBA step visible as a named function and will verify each in a demo · **Category:** Commercial LOS with SBA module

**Distinct capability:** Size standard, use of proceeds, personal resources and credit elsewhere tests named as individual steps in the file.

Cync's SBA page names 7(a) and 504, Forms 1919, 1920 and 1244, four eligibility tests, E-Tran submission automation and Form 1502 automation with secondary market management, inside a commercial platform that also spreads C&I, CRE and individual financials.

No assistant named Cync on this page's question, so it is here on documented evidence rather than consensus, and the evidence is the most complete SBA function list any vendor publishes: two programs including 504, three forms, four named eligibility tests, E-Tran and 1502. On the criteria for program coverage, forms, eligibility and servicing it reads well. It is held back on verified named lenders, where it has none for SBA, and by the page's demo-styled figures, which a buyer should read as illustrations. A JavaScript-rendered site also means plain crawlers, and the assistants, see only its title, which explains the absence from consensus.

**Where it holds up**

- 7(a) and 504 named
- Forms 1919, 1920 and 1244
- 1502 automation and secondary market management

**Where it falls short**

- No SBA customer named
- Demo-styled figures on the SBA page
- Absent from AI consensus; added on evidence

### 11. Jack Henry: The core provider's answer

**Editorial mark:** 2.4/5 · **Choose it when:** Jack Henry core institutions with occasional SBA volume · **Category:** Bank-core commercial LOS

**Distinct capability:** Origination and core from one vendor under one contract, for institutions already on a Jack Henry core.

Jack Henry's commercial lending platform names SBA among its supported loan types and is the natural first question for institutions on a Jack Henry core; nothing it publishes describes E-Tran, SBA forms, eligibility checks or 1502 reporting.

Four of five assistants recommend it and a large share of community institutions run its core, which is why it is here. The published SBA record is the word SBA in a list of loan types and a commercial lending case study at a $6 billion credit union. Against criteria that reward what is published, that leaves it with nothing to score on E-Tran, forms, eligibility, underwriting or servicing, and no SBA customer. The company's durability and the single-vendor relationship are real advantages for a core customer, and every SBA-specific question belongs with the account team, demonstrated on a file.

**Where it holds up**

- Single-vendor relationship with the core provider
- Most durable company in this set
- SBA at least named as a loan type

**Where it falls short**

- No E-Tran, forms, eligibility or 1502 published
- No SBA customer named
- Underwriting depth undocumented for SBA

## What to settle before the demos

### Which programs you actually run

Four of eleven vendors here name 504 on their SBA page. If 504 or CAPLines are in your mix, ask each vendor to walk a 504 file through the system before anything else, and get program coverage in writing.

### Where E-Tran happens

An integration that submits the guaranty request and writes the SBA loan number back into the file is different from an export someone uploads to CAFS. Ask which one it is, and ask to see the loan number land.

### Which forms come out populated

Forms 1919 and 1920 are the minimum. Some vendors add 1244 and the authorization forms; some name none. A form the system fills from data already in the file is the point; a blank PDF in a document library is not.

### Who does the analysis

Most origination platforms move documents and leave spreading, affiliate analysis and the memo to a spreadsheet or a separate tool. Decide whether the underwriting is part of this purchase or a second one, and read the underwriting page here if it is the latter.

### Where the loan lives after closing

Three vendors here publish 1502 reporting, PCFS Solutions, Lenders Cooperative and Cync, and DownHome on the servicing page is a fourth; the rest end at closing whatever an assistant told you. If you service your own portfolio and sell guaranteed portions, the servicing page here is the one to read, and the answer may be a second system.

### Who else your size has signed

Most vendors here name at least one lender. Numerated, Cync and Jack Henry name none for SBA, Baker Hill's SBA sheet and PCFS's own site name none, and Aloan names three customers but no SBA reference. Ask for a reference at an institution within a factor of two of your asset size, and ask that reference how the vendor handled the last SOP change.

## One purchase, several names

_SBA lending software, SBA loan origination software, 7(a) lending software, SBA LOS, E-Tran integration software_

Those phrases describe the same purchase from different angles. The one that misleads is SBA loan software, which draws in borrower-side marketplaces and SBA's own portals. Everything ranked here is software a lender licenses. Where the honest answer to a question is a Lender Service Provider or SBA's own MySBA Loan Portal, the primers say so by name.

## Questions lenders ask

### What is the best SBA lending software for a bank?

For an origination system built around the SBA file, SPARK, which publishes E-Tran integration, SBA form generation and SOP checklists and names four lenders. For the widest program list including 504, Biz2X. For the analysis beside an existing SBA system, Aloan, which does not submit to E-Tran and names customers but no SBA reference. For SBA inside a commercial platform the bank already runs, nCino, Abrigo or Baker Hill, in whichever order matches the platform the bank has. For servicing and 1502, PCFS Solutions.

### Which SBA lending software handles 504 loans?

Biz2X and Cync name 504 on their SBA pages, Lenders Cooperative's Ventures platform names 504, 7(a) and Community Advantage, and Aloan names 504 for underwriting. nCino, Abrigo, Baker Hill and SPARK do not name it, which is not proof they cannot handle it, only that they have not published it.

### Which vendors submit directly to E-Tran?

SPARK, nCino, Abrigo, Baker Hill, Biz2X, Cync, PCFS Solutions and Lenders Cooperative each describe E-Tran submission or integration on their own pages. Baker Hill is the one that explicitly describes the SBA loan number being returned and stored. Aloan, Numerated, Jack Henry and DownHome do not describe E-Tran submission.

### Do I need separate software for 1502 reporting?

Possibly. PCFS Solutions, Lenders Cooperative, Cync and DownHome publish 1502 preparation. nCino, Abrigo, Baker Hill, SPARK and Biz2X do not describe it on their SBA pages, so if you service your own 7(a) portfolio, ask each origination vendor where the loan goes after closing.

### Why is a Lender Service Provider not ranked here?

Because it is a service, not software. Four of five AI assistants recommend Windsor Advantage for SBA lending software, and for a bank that does not want to build an SBA department it can be the right answer, but a ranking of software cannot place it. The primer on what SBA lending software does explains where an LSP fits.

### Does any vendor publish a price?

One does. DownHome Solutions, on the servicing page, publishes module prices: Loan Servicing at $160 a month and Loan Origination at $150 a month, first two users free, with add-on modules from $20 to $100 a month. Aloan publishes its pricing basis, usage-based with a monthly minimum and a per-document overage, without figures. The other ten publish nothing. The cost primer sets out what to ask.
