What it is
Baker Hill's SBA capability is documented in a two-page sheet rather than a product page, and it is unusually precise. Baker Hill NextGen supports traditional SBA products including 7(a), the Preferred Lender Program, Express and CapLine loans. The sheet describes the workflow in three stages. Application: borrower data is gathered from applications or existing client records, the loan is underwritten as a business loan and then converted to an SBA loan with a click, decision rules capture policy exceptions and identify potential SBA transactions, and credit memos, cash flow analysis and financial spreads are generated in the platform. Submission: Forms 1919 and 1920 are generated from data already captured, the opportunity is submitted to E-Tran without rekeying, and the SBA loan number and application number are returned from E-Tran and stored in NextGen. Report: existing products such as term loans, lines of credit and CRE can use the SBA functionality, and management dashboards cover volume. That last section is where the published record stops. No 1502 reporting, secondary market handling or servicing appears on the sheet, and the sheet hands loan data to document preparation providers rather than describing SBA closing documents. CCG Catalyst puts Baker Hill at 400 or more financial institution clients. The platform is being renamed UN/FY on a per-institution basis, the company is in Carmel, Indiana, and it publishes neither a founding year nor an owner.
What it does
- 7(a), Preferred Lender Program, Express and CapLine named on the SBA sheet
- A conventional business loan converted to an SBA loan inside the same workflow
- Forms 1919 and 1920 populated from captured data
- E-Tran submission without rekeying, with the SBA loan number returned and stored
- Credit memos, cash flow analysis and spreads generated in NextGen, with decision rules flagging SBA candidates
Strengths
- The most precise published SBA program list among the commercial LOS vendors here: 7(a), PLP, Express and CapLine by name
- E-Tran round trip is documented, including the loan number and application number written back into the file
- Underwriting is in the same system: spreads, cash flow and the memo are generated where the SBA forms are
- A large published integration surface with cores and document preparation providers
Considerations
- 504 is not named on the SBA sheet
- The sheet describes no 1502 reporting, secondary market handling or servicing, whatever assistants say about it
- SBA closing documents are handed to document preparation providers rather than produced in the platform
- No founding year, no owner and no price are published, and the product name is mid-transition to UN/FY
Best when
Most SBA loans start life as conventional requests and the team wants the conversion to be a click

Baker Hill FAQ
Does Baker Hill handle 504?
Its SBA sheet names 7(a), PLP, Express and CapLine. 504 is not on it.
Does Baker Hill produce SBA closing documents?
The sheet says loan data transfers to document preparation providers, so closing documents are produced outside the platform.
