SBA lending software vendors compared head to head

Six head-to-head pairings of the vendors SBA lenders shortlist together, scored on programs named, E-Tran, SBA forms, eligibility, servicing and named lenders.

SPARK vs Lenders Cooperative

SPARK is the better fit for a 7(a) desk that wants E-Tran, SBA forms and SOP checklists configured out of the box and will service loans elsewhere. Lenders Cooperative is the better fit for a 504 lender or CDC, for a 7(a) lender that wants 1502 reporting from the same vendor, or for an institution that wants the option to hand underwriting or servicing to the vendor's own SBA staff while its platforms finish merging.

Biz2X vs Numerated

Biz2X is the choice today for a digital SBA front end: its SBA page names 7(a), 504, Express, Microloans and CAPLines, describes automatic eligibility verification and E-Tran reporting, and its case studies name BayFirst, a top-five SBA lender in 2023 on the platform that has since exited SBA 7(a) lending, with First Savings Bank and Newity. Numerated's 2022 SBA 7(a) solution was real, with eligibility validation and automated form generation, but since Moody's acquired the company in November 2024 nothing published confirms the SBA product is still sold, so it is a question for Moody's before it is a shortlist entry.

nCino vs Abrigo

nCino is the SBA choice for an institution that has standardized commercial origination on its platform, with 7(a) and Express workflows, E-Tran submission and automated data translation from within the system, Form 1919 and 4506-C via DocuSign and four named lenders. Abrigo is the SBA choice for a community bank or credit union that already spreads and rates risk in Sageworks, with E-Tran through its API network, Forms 1919 and 1920 as PDFs, two named banks and more than 400 credit union customers. Neither names 504 and neither publishes 1502 reporting.

Baker Hill vs Abrigo

Baker Hill publishes the more precise SBA record: 7(a) with PLP, Express and CapLine named, Forms 1919 and 1920 from captured data, E-Tran submission with the loan number written back, and spreads, cash flow and the memo generated in the same system. Abrigo publishes the larger footprint: two named banks on its SBA page, a PPP result of 318 approved loans, and more than 400 credit union customers, with E-Tran through its API network and Forms 1919 and 1920 as PDFs, but only 7(a) named. Neither names 504 or publishes 1502 reporting.

Aloan vs Baker Hill

Baker Hill is the choice for a bank that wants the SBA analysis and the SBA forms in one origination platform, with spreads, cash flow and the memo generated in NextGen and the E-Tran round trip documented. Aloan is the choice for a lender that keeps its origination system and wants deeper published SBA analysis beside it: package classification, spreading of related entities with K-1 tracing, guarantor mapping and a source-traceable memo for 7(a), 504 and Express, with no E-Tran, no forms and no published SBA reference.

PCFS Solutions vs Lenders Cooperative

PCFS Solutions is the choice for a 7(a) lender that services its own portfolio and sells guaranteed portions: its Loan Manager publishes FTA-format 1502 preparation, secondary market prepayment and late payment handling, FASB 166 support and a separate special assets product. Lenders Cooperative is the choice for a CDC or 504 lender, with the Ventures platform behind 99.8% of 504 loans, a CDC Annual Report tool, modernized 1502 reporting through its Payments product, and servicing available as a professional service while its platforms finish merging.
