Biz2X vs Numerated: two digital SBA front ends, one of them under new ownership

Biz2X is the choice today for a digital SBA front end: its SBA page names 7(a), 504, Express, Microloans and CAPLines, describes automatic eligibility verification and E-Tran reporting, and its case studies name BayFirst, a top-five SBA lender in 2023 on the platform that has since exited SBA 7(a) lending, with First Savings Bank and Newity. Numerated's 2022 SBA 7(a) solution was real, with eligibility validation and automated form generation, but since Moody's acquired the company in November 2024 nothing published confirms the SBA product is still sold, so it is a question for Moody's before it is a shortlist entry.

Both sell speed at intake. One publishes five SBA programs and names SBA lenders in its case studies; the other launched its 7(a) product in 2022 and now redirects to Moody's.

Choose Biz2X if…

  • You need 504 or CAPLines as well as 7(a) and Express in one front end
  • A named lender with a checkable SBA outcome matters to your board
  • You want E-Tran reporting described by the vendor rather than confirmed later
  • The parent being a direct lender does not trouble your view of pipeline data

Choose Numerated if…

  • You are already in a Moody's conversation for spreading or credit assessment and can get the SBA product's status in writing
  • Your SBA volume is small-dollar 7(a) where intake validation does most of the work
  • The scale of the underlying digital platform matters more than SBA-specific publication
  • You are prepared to treat the product as unconfirmed until Moody's confirms it

Our take

On what is published today this is not close. Biz2X has a live SBA page with five programs, an eligibility check at intake, E-Tran reporting, named SBA lenders in its case studies and an institution count. Numerated has a 2022 launch release and an acquirer whose product pages do not mention SBA. That does not mean the Numerated product is gone; it means a buyer cannot tell from the outside, and a shortlist built from AI answers will still carry the name. The honest sequence is to ask Moody's whether the SBA 7(a) workflow is sold today and under what name, and to evaluate Biz2X in the meantime. The one question Biz2X has to answer is about its parent: Biz2Credit lends to small businesses directly, and a bank should ask how the software business and the lending business are separated before sharing a pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

Is Numerated still sold?

Not published. numerated.com redirects to Moody's Lending Suite, and neither the loan origination nor the small business page there names Numerated or SBA. Ask Moody's.

Does either one service the loan?

Neither describes servicing or 1502 reporting. Both are front ends; the loan goes elsewhere after closing.
